Google Buries Alternative Health Web Sites

It appears that Google has recently taken a very destructive measure against the entire internet community. What they have done is tantamount to censorship of naturopathic web sites. It’s truly big-time censorship. It’s a devious and dastardly act by Google that will progressively unleash humongous and unnecessary suffering. Basically (as I understand it), what has happened is that Google has buried any naturopathic searches deep in their “algorithms” such that when you search for things naturopathic, the truly relevant search items are abandoned hopelessly deep in the search list. “Medical Orthodoxy” is the sole ruling criteria.

Allow me to recognize that Google has done a lot of good for internet ease-of-use (more especially in the days when the internet was not one gigantic advertising machine). If you use any internet-connected device, you probably know what I’m talking about. Internet devices would be much harder to use without Google’s facilitation. Not considering the surveillance aspect of things, Google’s internet-driven “algorithms” have been extremely helpful in achieving optimal searches. No longer.

Along with their, admittedly, outstanding technical contributions, the betrayal of the American people has, unfortunately, also been paramount. We are supposed to possess certain Constitutionally-guaranteed liberties. But over my 71 years in this world, I have seen those liberties greatly eroded. The foundational rights granted to us by The Bill of Rights have been progressively nibbled away bit-by-bit until… at this point in time, it is my opinion that our Constitutional rights have been seriously abrogated (but that’s another story, I guess). Relevant point being: Google has been instrumentally-cooperative in compromising our Constitutional liberties.

”Alphabet, Google’s holding company, is now the second-largest company in the world.” {footnote: page 11, Life After Google, George Gilder}. Google largely controls what takes place on the internet. They have chosen to bury the alternative health community on the internet. From now on, unless a search adheres to Big Pharma’s “medical orthodoxy”, along with Google’s new “algorithm” criteria, alternative health issues will be buried at the bottom of internet searches. This is nothing other than blatant censorship. It totally betrays any good-faith effort in doing business. We don’t need internet censorship. We will not stand for internet censorship!

The people need God-granted herbs, vitamins, nutrients and such that contribute to good health. This is something Big Pharma continues to ignore. It might be counterproductive to their bottom line, you know. Listen up, Big Pharma. Listen up, Google. You boys don’t just have one master. Beside the “powers that be”, you also have to answer to the MARKETPLACE and the AMERICAN PEOPLE!

I was informed of this adverse internet development by Jon Barron, of Baseline Nutritionals (via email). Jon Barron’s contribution to naturopathic health is immense in my estimation. The wife and I have benefitted greatly from some of his products – especially his Glucotor product (designed to assist with type 2 diabetes). For a more detailed background about this adverse internet development, please check out the whole nine yards from somebody whose business bottom line has been greatly affected:

Everything Is Broken: Stand By Me Somewhere Over the Rainbow

What has been man’s grandest aspiration on this planet? His most coveted achievement? A large number of people would immediately posit the development of science and technology. I might agree, but then again, I might have to toss another hat into the ring: music.

To me, music is the highest art form that exists (realizing, of course, that science is {for the most part} not art). Art covers a vast and divergent field of endeavor with music ranking right up there near the top of the list – in terms of impact and influence.

When you talk about art… literature and painting also come readily to my mind. As you realize, there are many other art venues, as well. I don’t mean to be disparaging any of those other passions for lack of mention. We wouldn’t be the same people we are today without all of art’s grand contributions. I’m just pointing out that three arts stand out for me: music, paintings, and literature. What treasures!

Music can move, inspire, and entertain a person all at the same time. Music can make a person cry. There is something incapturably-transcendent about music. It reaches down deep in your soul. Music can transport you into a different world. It energizes the mind. It touches you in an emotive/ psychological/ physiological manner that no other art form can achieve. I’m not properly describing it, but I think you sense what I’m saying. There is a spiritual and metaphysical undercurrent to music. As I’ve suggested: good music is a transcendent experience – taking us along for the ride. No matter your musical preference, all you gotta’ do is HANG ON!

Music potentially resonates in harmonic/heterodyne fashion in heaven – and may just possibly be the common language of the spheres.

If I seem to be pre-occupied with music, please forgive. Indeed, I am pre-occupied (yeah, buddy!).

3 tunes: two versions of the Bob Dylan song: Everything’s Broken… unnhhh-hhh! Dig it… Love John Lennon music. IZ makes me cry.

What Is The Deal With Twist-Ties?

Okay. I go to the loaf of bread in the kitchen to get a sandwich going. Well, seems like every time I take the twist-tie off the loaf of bread, get my paper plate, and return to the open loaf of bread => egads! The twist-tie has somehow disappeared!? Absolutely vanished into thin air!! Black hole phenomena? What kind of invisible cloaking do these things have? I mean really… seems like I always have to go hunting for the inveterately-subterranean twist-tie. Never fails. Sometimes I find the darn thing, but more often than not… it’s a “lost cause” (what my wife often says about me (no… not really 😉).

The word, “twist”, puts me in mind of, not only Chubby Checker, but also of the song, The Wilbury Twist, by the Traveling Wilburys. Check out the great YouTube video/song clip of The Wilbury Twist (below). Super stuff! John Candy even makes an appearance in the video version. Love the Candy Man!

A shout-out to YouTube! I realize that you get some grief and bad press (possibly deservedly so??) but I just LOVE to death all the good stuff that you’ve aggregated. You have amassed a colossal collection of art, data, and miscellany. In my mind, The stupendous dataset that you’ve collected together is of historic importance.

Kudos Google: please kindly resist any continuing efforts to misuse the people. Many of us thank you.

Life’s Essential Existential Question

Photo: courtesy of Kristanix.com

I am always reminding myself to stick more efficiently to priorities. Life is so short. We don’t have the luxury of attending to every last little detail or whim that comes across our path. We should prioritize and get to the most important things first. Which I’m sure we all do each day, right? Yeah, sure we do. Well… we do consider the issue once in awhile perhaps.

We have to allow time for all kinds of things though. You know. The list is as endless as it is diverse. If we don’t prioritize, however, we’ll later on regret that some things didn’t get done.

Most of us get distracted and sidetracked too easily. I know I do. Life forces distractions upon us. There’s nothing we can do about that. It’s just the way life is: it ambushes you. You start something and sure as the ‘dickens, here comes something else seducing (or forcing) your time and attention. You’ll, of course, be able to attend to the distraction quickly and be able to return to the higher priority task => post-haste. Correcta-mundo? Well, if you’re like me, too many embedded hierarchies downstream, you find that you don’t even remember what it was you were doing in the first place.

This, in somewhat distracted fashion, brings me to my point. What is your most essential priority in life? It is my belief that you should have one central overriding priority. With the passage of time, one central passion should become the dominant theme in your life. If you don’t yet know what your primary passion is, perhaps that’s why you feel such a void inside. We were all created for a purpose. It’s up to us to find out what that purpose is.

In my mind, God created us as free-willed sentient beings: beings whom innately possess free-will. Free-will, by definition, facilitates both benevolent and wicked transaction. That sure sounds like a formula for widespread chaos to me. We live in a dog-eat-dog world. There’s just no getting around it. It’s the curse that sin has brought upon us.

So concomitant with free-will, I don’t have to tell you, tremendous evil has been released into our world. The second law of thermodynamics proves that we live within an entropy-degenerative/death-seeded cosmos (“the wages of sin is death”). Within that construct, there are far too many human and spiritual free-wills working at cross purposes to be able to reasonably expect a benign or benevolent environment. Wouldn’t you agree?

For me, the essential existential question in life is the question: is there a God? Yes? No? Or Maybe? If there is a God, what does He require? I think any truly objectively-minded person will probably pose the same question. If there does, indeed, exist an omnipresent, omniscient, and omnipotent God, you might be well advised to take heed. Sound logic requires this, doesn’t it?

Let me paint the edges of what is, for me, the Grand Panorama. The Grand Panorama is so overwhelming that words fail. God offers us something so majestic, so wondrous, and so incredible that: the temporal distress that we now suffer is as nothing compared to “the glory that is to be revealed.”

What is promised the believer is greater than can be imagined. If a person repents and accepts Jesus Christ as their savior, he(she) will be saved. That’s what the Word of God promises: “draw nigh unto God, and He will draw nigh unto you.” When you repent and accept Christ, you are truly reborn. God will come and live with you. He will commune with you in a fashion, I’m sorry, that is just too wonderful for words.

It has always been man’s dream to create a utopia on this earth. Well, as impressive as man’s technological advances are, man will never be able to create a utopia. It’s not going to happen. Science will never save us from ourselves. But listen: Good News has already been provided for us.

The Son of God has paid for our sins and has given us eternal life. He gives us a kingdom from above that He promises is never-ending. I apologize for all the superlatives, but the Kingdom of God is just the most delirious and inconceivable dream come true. Jesus said: “I am THE WAY, THE TRUTH, and THE LIFE.

Jesus is not a spiritual guide. He is not just an enlightened guru. He is the pre-eternal and all powerful Son of God. He is the great I AM! It is up to you to discriminate whether or not Jesus was telling the truth. If He wasn’t telling the Truth, He was obviously a complete fraud, right?

God didn’t want clones or robots. And He wasn’t about to compromise Holy Law. God desired to have fellowship with His creation. God’s foreknowledge and our free will are not mutually exclusive. Both dynamics exist independently yet fully co-exist in total harmony. Reality has been majestically and asymptotically conjoined together in a somewhat perplexing singularity called => YOU! Huh? What’s that? Yeah, me too 🙃.

Faith, hope, and love remain.” And sustain. As they do, I have faith in your safe passage, dear reader. There is hope for your life because there truly is a God. I am as sure of that as I find myself sitting here right now. God loves you much more than I could ever communicate.

You are truly the primary, free-willed agency making the driving-function decision regarding your destiny. God expresses it this way: “And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.” It’s your call => truth teller or fraud? Has to be one or the other.

May God Bless,

JCT (John)

More Big ‘O’ – Pretty Woman

Here’s a great video, courtesy of YouTube, wherein Roy Orbison performs Pretty Woman. Roy is in concert with several other well-known friends, including Elvis Costello, Bruce Springsteen, James Burton, Tom Waits, and some others.

James Burton plays the lead electric guitar on this video. James Burton was probably not as widely famous as some of the other names backing up Roy. However, James was widely respected in the industry. Widely! He was a session guitarist for a large number of big-time musical artists from Elvis Presley and John Denver to Johnny Cash – and many others. One music critic claimed James Burton was one of the finest guitarists to ever touch the frets. I won’t disagree. The man was as crisp and as dangerous as a sharp knife. Along with Roy Orbison, listen to James Burton’s powerful, improvisational fretwork. Great video! Great music!

Everybody loved Roy Orbison. Along with Big Band, Jazz, Rhythm and Blues, Country, Early 50’s pop, Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, and the Beatles… Roy Orbison was one of the foundational cornerstones of rock n’ roll (in my opinion). Realizing that this kind of megalomaniacal statement is very subjective and that I’m probably forgetting an abundance of other foundational influences, I do apologize. In any event, thank you SO MUCH for leaving us such a great collection of music, Roy Orbison.

Roy Orbison – One of the Greatest

Roy Orbison is one of my favorite all time rock and rollers. He had such a full and beautiful symphonic voice. He brought great emotion and human feeling into his music – and had such humongous range it was unbelievable. Roy Orbison: quintessential rock and roll.

Only the Lonely  is just one of many of his great hits. Love the man. We miss you, Roy.

Roy Orbison Forever!

Here’s three other great pieces featuring the Big ‘O’. Orbison’s early-on habit of sometimes integrating an orchestral background into his music added tremendous depth and power to his rock and roll => great musical direction. Early music… or his later music. It’s all good with Roy.

In terms of late music, Roy Orbison with The Traveling Wilburys was just so perfect. The Traveling Wilburys rocked as well as anybody coming down the pike. I mean they really put down a sound! Not just a Super Group: THEY WERE THE SUPER GROUP! Listen to these guys’ videos on YouTube sometime (thank you, YouTube, for all the great music). It’ll take some time before we ever witness the likes of the Traveling Wilburys again. God bless ‘em all, wherever they might be. God bless ‘em!

I just can’t get enough of Roy Orbison music. We love you, Roy.

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.

My First Blog Post

Focus hard on navigating the troubled seas of now. Don’t worry-wart the past. Don’t worry-wart the future.

JCT

Hello World

I have chosen to write a blog rather than write a personal journal. I don’t know if this was a wise choice or not. I know this will seem peculiar, but (to me) writing a blog feels a lot like pondering a sky dive. I know that’s ridiculous. However, the anxiety and the reluctance strike me as being somehow similar. But I’m hopeful. Listen, I’m old. Forty years ago, the lemonade tasted better, my gears didn’t grind as much, and the world looked so much less disheartening than it does now.

As we age, most of us feel increasingly besieged by our own mortality. I am 71 (as of 2019). My health has been better. Being on a short fuse, I can’t (won’t) say that “the thrill is gone” yet… but the twilight does indeed beckon ominously. Posterity-wise, creating a blog is something that at least shows that I was here. Right?

As you get older, you finally kind of get things sorted out. However, much to your chagrin, you find out that you’ve gotten too old to fully enjoy the fruits of that knowledge. I’ve lived all these years and made all the mistakes and errors that we all tend to make, growing up. Usually, as we mature in a profession, raise a family, sorrow as so many of those around us disappear, and then hesitantly venture out into our own twilight years… we sort of figure things out – at least more so than we had earlier.

One blinks, turns around like Dave in 2001 Space Odyssey, and wonders what in blue blazes is going on. But hopefully, one understands things a little better than in the past. However, it’s sorta’ late to try and make optimal use of it all. One has gotten too old. If one had only acquired the wisdom that time brings, and been able to apply that to our minds as a younger person, things would have turned out so much differently, don’t you think?

We are not passing our wisdom on to the kids, as we should be doing. What we have learned in the school of hard knocks, we should at least be trying to pass on. Why does every generation have to learn things all over again? You might point out: “Well, it’s just the nature of youth to not listen. It’s in their nature to rebel against all authority.” And as absolutely true as that is, there’s still a great deal of fertile ground that could be seeded if we would just establish an emphasis.

But we don’t. Humanity-wise, each successive generation is worse off than the previous generation (and I’m not talking about material comforts or technology here). The human take on this is: each generation is not nicer; they’re not kinder. Humanity seems to less and less respect the lives and well-being of their fellow man as time marches on.

All lamenting aside, I should express my primary reason for being right now. I am a born-again Christian (non-denominational). God has been so good and so merciful to me over the years, I can’t express. The Living Christ is VERY REAL! I have met him “up close and personal.” I am forgiven and He is alive in me forevermore.

It is my intent to share some of my personal thoughts and perspectives. I hope to bless and encourage my brothers and sisters in the Lord. I also want to leave a small legacy of thought and blogging smorgasbord for my grandchildren (and potentially progeny) to read.

Additionally, I hope to offer other content that might be of interest. Specifically, I plan on sharing information about some of the naturopathic health solutions out there. As well, I am interested in astronomy, physics, space exploration and science, in general.

As many of you are, I am very saddened and touched by the continuing extinction of so many species. I also feel threatened and harmed by the continuing deadly pollution and deforestation of the planet that is taking place. There are many other subjects that interest me too; I just can’t bring them all to mind right now.

Finally, on this blog: I also plan on celebrating some of the good old rock n’ roll tunes of yore (mostly 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, & 80’s). Hope some of you can enjoy the golden age of rock n’ roll along with me. I love music.

Bottom line: as well as creating a small legacy of thought, I very much desire to bless and (if I can) entertain some of you. We are all in this crazy thing together, aren’t we? As do most of you, I want the best for all of us.

Kind Regards and May God Bless,

John
