Milky Way – What A Gas

https://www.space.com/astronomy-mystery-milky-way-galaxy-gas-imbalance.html?utm_source=Selligent&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=8606&utm_content=20191011_SDC_Newsletter+-+adhoc+&utm_term=3007709&m_i=40l47k5D1jiJ%2BhZUX805gZDMdfUPYwG9N8xIQCqwecFsSDyQ4T6_S03d0ipmwTu_gAeKBFhZ9Mqw2GGdJG0xjQJnUJCrHr744l

“Astronomers have discovered a strange surplus of gas in the Milky Way galaxy.”

“The researchers used data from Hubble’s Cosmic Origins Spectrograph (COS), which allows the space telescope to study objects that absorb or emit light and determine aspects such as their temperature, chemical makeup, velocity and density. With COS, the team could observe and track the movement of gases in the galaxy: the gases appear redder as they move away from our galaxy, and bluer as they get closer through the phenomena known as redshift and blueshift.”

“First, the astronomers think that this excess gas could be coming from the interstellar medium. Second, they suggest that the Milky Way is using its impressive gravitational pull to swipe gas from smaller, nearby galaxies, according to a statement. Additionally…”

“Gases leave our galaxy when events like supernovae and stellar winds push them out of the Milky Way’s galactic disk. When gases fall back into our galaxy, they contribute to the formation of new stars and planets. So the balance between the inflow and outflow of gases is important to regulating how objects such as stars form in galaxies like ours.”

Bad To The Bone

He’s bad. Bad To The Bone. George Thorogood can really rock the house. Classic rock song. Some nice guitar work. Some nice saxophone work. The earlier days of rock n’ roll saw a lot of saxophone accompaniment. Used to be a major staple. Not any more. I miss a good rockin’ saxophone.

Thunder On The Mountain

If this song doesn’t make you juke… then I’m kinda’ worried about you 🥴

“There’s a ruckus in the alley.”

“Look into my heart and you will sort of understand.”

“Gonna’ forget about myself for awhile… gonna’ go out and see what others need.”

“Everybody(‘s) got to wonder what’s the matter with this cruel world.”

“Thunder on the mountain heavy as can be.” ==>>.

Right, Marvin? Marvin: I know it.

The Spirit Is Willing

“The Spirit is willing… but the flesh is weak.”

Ain’t it the truth? We are so discomfited by our own failures and inadequacies – at least I am, at times. If we don’t resolutely persevere, life will paralyze and crush us. We have to “keep on keeping on.” We must never give up. We have to “keep on truckin’.” Who will save us from this veil of tears… this wicked world… this pale of death?

I think I know the answer to that one ==>> Jesus.

Time Will Tell

A 3D-Printed Bus Shelter Just Went Into Service In China

{ Click on the above link for story }

This 3-D printing deal is getting pretty wild. 3-D printed bones? 3-D printed human organs? 3-D printed homes/shelters? There is a lot of impressive science happening all around us – and in so many fields. This is legitimate “shock and awe.”

I come from a childhood that started in the late 1940’s (1948). The early 1950’s are still very strongly imprinted in my brain (even a little bit of the 40’s). The 1950’s were truly the golden era of my country.

As a child, I vividly remember sitting in front of a large-sized, radio piece of furniture. The appliance was finely crafted out of mahogany. It had a hinged door on it covering the radio controls. The piece was built to look good and it was built to last. No laminates. No apologies for its grotesque size. No planned obsolescence. As well, our ‘radio set’ had an old-school record player in it (45’s/78’s ?). It was a multi-featured, modern marvel. Would mankind achieve such brilliance ever again?

I was enchanted and enraptured by listening to that old radio. As best as I can remember… The Lone Ranger, Roy Rogers, Hopalong Cassidy, and other radio programs could entertain me for hours.

Radio was still the primary entertainment source back in the early 1950’s. Until about 1952 or thereabouts, there was still no television – at least not in most parts of Texas.

There was this green, eye-like, vidicon tube. It was the visual centerpiece of the radio. The green vidicon tube would (in pie-chart type fashion) display varying pie-chart segments of green – in cyclop’ unison with the changing audio. I would sit and stare intently at that pulsing, green vidicon tube, listening to my favorite radio programs play. To this day, I’m still an audio kinda’ guy – not a video guy.

Point being, I have seen so much change in my lifetime that it’s amazing. I remember my grandpa saying the very same thing though. Born in the early 1890’s, he was there to observe the horse and buggy being replaced by the “horseless carriage.” He experienced the wide-spread implementation of electricity. And wonder of all wonders => the mainstream advent of plumbing and indoor toilets! My grandpa observed as man took to the air and eventually landed on the moon. And obviously, so many other incredible things too. I am remiss.

Well, now being in my later years, I kinda’ feel the same way as my grandpa must have. Granted, along with the bad stuff, I have seen so much incredible technology and innovation take place in my lifetime. I find that it’s just amazing (I am 71 years young). I have witnessed the advent of: the jet enginetelevisionSpace travel (we landed on the moon)… the calculator (hey, I still remember using a slide rule)… the personal computer (unbelievable at the time)… and very significantly, the global implementation of what we now call the internet. And now we have the ubiquitous iPhone – a wonder of modern technology. The iPhone has transformed our lives. But I have left so much else out. I understand that.

Assuming that the planet survives (an outrageous and gaudy thought), I wonder what advances will occur in the next couple of generations? Should be very interesting as they say… though: “only time will tell.”

You just gotta’ see this guy’s latest post (10/8/19). Mitch truly has an uncommon grasp of humor (I’m jealous). He is outrageously funny. It’s just ridiculous (or is it just me?). But listen: you gotta’ check this man’s latest post out. I died laughing => again!

Spirit, Soul, and Body

The pretty little bird showing above is a white-tailed robin – found mostly in SouthEast Asia (photo courtesy of Kristanix.com). I am showing a picture of this little bird because dummy here, can’t seem to get a still of Andrew Wommack pasted (re: spirit, soul, and body). The only thing linking into WordPress is the actual web link (??). Sorry. My bad. Great teaching by Andrew Wommack though.

https://www.awmi.net/video/tv-archives/?yn=2013&wn=23&dn=1

per ANDREW WOMMACK (teaching preface):

“There is a whole universe that mankind in all their wisdom is ignorant of. That is the world of the spirit. And I’m not just talking about the spiritual realm outside of us but also the spiritual being inside of every person. We aren’t evolved animals; we were created in God’s image and likeness (Gen. 1:26). We are spirit beings. The ultimate way to control bad behavior isn’t by more laws, metal detectors, or social engineering; it’s by changing the hearts of people, one at a time. Only Jesus can do that. Yet sadly, even many Christians have lost this spiritual point of view.

Very few Christians know who they are in the spirit. In fact, they have been taught by religion that they are sinners by nature, which is just the opposite of what the Bible teaches. It’s true that we were all born sinners (Ps. 51:5) and had the nature of the devil working in us (Eph. 2:2-3). But when we came to Christ and received salvation, we became a new person in the spirit:
“If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things arepassed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Cor. 5:17).

This isn’t talking about your body. If you were a man before you accepted Christ, you’re still a man afterwards. Your body didn’t change. And your soul, which is what the Bible calls the mental/emotional part of you, didn’t automatically change either. It’s subject to change, but you have to renew your mind to experience change in your mind and emotions.

But in the spirit, you became a brand-new species of being. Your spirit is totally new. There isn’t an old sin nature left in you.I know this comes as a complete shock to many of you who have been indoctrinated in the-old-nature-versus-the-new-nature theology. Most Christians have been taught to believe that after salvation, they are still the same at their core, and they live the rest of their lives trying to restrain this old nature. They believe they have two natures. That’s schizophrenic, and it produces Christians who are nothing like Christ.“

Old Time Rock n’ Roll!

www.pandora.com/bob-seger/stranger-in-town/old-time-rock-roll/TRlgmzx4fgZw2jw

My wife says I like ’em all. And I guess I do! I love so much of the OLD rock n’ roll. And love Bob Seger! Great, great music!

His above picture puts me back in ‘the day’ => Men walking around with unashamedly long hair. I’m wearing my hair long now (2019) because I still protest. To me, long hair on a man will always be a rebellious statement => a protest against the machine, a right ‘to be’. Long live the counter-culture dream in the minds of men.

The counter culture wasn’t all a bad thing as depicted by the revisionist press. The period wasn’t all about sex, drugs, and rock n’ roll (well perhaps mostly 😎), but listen… there was a freshly-stirring awareness… a sense of real community. There was a growing sense of fellowship and common purpose. There was a re-born instinct about trying to do the right thing. That atmosphere has all but since disappeared. It’s been downhill ever since in my estimation.

We knew way back when during dinosaur days that something wasn’t right => but… “What it is, ain’t exactly clear… there’s a man with a gun over there… telling me I got to beware. Think it’s time we stopped, children… what’s that sound… everybody look what’s goin’ down.” => Buffalo Springfield. Yeah, baby!

Rock n’ roll ROCKS my soul. It makes me feel good! It excites me! It shakes me up inside and yet, at times, can also greatly amuse and pacify me! It inspires me! It makes me want to “twist and shout.” It makes me want to dance (wife is going: “oh no… no… no… not that! He’s gonna’ hurt himself again! Please! Somebody get him off his horse!”)

She could be right you know, Marvin. Marvin: I know it!

Income Inequality Is Increasing

m.arcamax.com/business/businessnews/s-2282621

It’s never been easy sailing for a lot of us… but since 2007 (2008 for many) things have (economically) gotten very much worse. A huge number of people in my country (USA) are suffering greatly right now. And with at least $22 trillion worth of national debt (national debt, not personal debt)… things do not augur to look much better any time soon.

You could just call it *recession*. As the local and national happy-time news agencies describe though… you could just say that we’re just experiencing a little bit of economic difficulty right now. Well, those boys can characterize things any way they want too. But I call it *depression* when so many people can’t make ends meet. If you’re not suffering right now, count yourselves as one of the lucky few.

My daily dose of rock n’ roll. Gotta’ have it! Especially now that I have that keen little blue-tooth speaker for our iPhone. I can rock with music all over the house now. Cool. Just have to be really careful with the dancing thing 😎 Love the Blue Tooth!

And… LOVE The Beach Boys! Always and forever, baby!

Ocean Clean-up => plastics

https://wonderfulengineering.com/ocean-cleanup-collects-first-plastic-from-great-pacific-garbage-patch/

Most definitely a step in the right direction => cleaning up the humongous plastic piles of waste trashing up the oceans. So needed.

Watch the little 2-3 minute video in the above link. It’s a slow loading link but it gives you a better idea of the scale of the problem that humanity faces.

Remember to re-cycle. Not trying to be hoity-toity, but it’s the right thing to do, people. We’ve got a HUGE mess on our hands. The oceans are being destroyed. The landfills are overflowing.

We Are Stardust

music.youtube.com/watch

It’s early October as I write in Dallas, Texas. It’s finally cooling off a little bit. I love Texas. I’m just not fond of the big city. Too much noise. Too much traffic. Too much pollution. Too much crime.

Why are we all crowded together like cattle in a stockyard? There’s so much beautiful country out there to be enjoyed. Why aren’t we able to embrace more of it? Why can’t we live in peace and wonder with nature, deriving pleasure from it – rather than destroying our very base of existence. It has been scientifically predicted (by some) that we don’t have much time left (due to global warming). Why are we so crowded together in these last days? There are far too many of us herded into cramped conditions of hardship and poverty.

Indeed, some of us do survive and even thrive quite nicely. However, for every person who thrives, there are several more who struggle to even subsist. There are an increasing number of people who are having trouble making ends meet. It makes you sad thinking about it. This is supposedly an age of abundance. What continues to fall short are not truly commodities though… What continues to fall short are the hearts of men. That’s why Jesus told us that we would always have the poor with us. Hunger and need are primarily fallout from the greed and power lust that so besieges us.

But slowly, and thankfully, here comes Fall => my favorite season. Leaves turning all colors of the rainbow. Trees and shrubs mercifully blanketing the worn-out summer turf. The air turning cooler and brisker. The inevitable change of seasons => one can even *sniff* it in the air. Summer’s relentless heat slowly subsiding => Nature is venturing into the nether regions of slumber… as the Earth indulges in a brief interlude of relaxation – all before the onslaught of winter takes its vicious hold.

Above digital Art by Sandi Staton: https://sandistatondigitaldesigns.com

Texas pecan trees are bearing their fruit. North winds gathering strength. Healing, cleansing rains, once scared stupid by the big city’s high pressure dome, are finally showing a little resolve. Autumn rains build slowly but eventually evolve into a much-needed rainy season here in Texas.

Football gearing up all around. High school. College. Professional. The State Fair of Texas celebrating with Big Tex and lots of food – lots and lots of food! Texas versus Oklahoma. Excitement in the air. College in full swing. Young people full of life and hope! “speaking their minds… but gettin’ so much resistance from behind.” But the future looks bright and “wide open.” There is so much to learn. So much to live for.

Libido inescapably prowling around like a wild beast looking for prey though – never to be satiated. Desire, knowledge and revelation all competing to take root in young minds – the mind supernaturally assailed from all quarters. How to grasp? How to adapt? How to understand?

Synapses are violently firing up memories from times long since forgotten. Fall is woefully nostalgic, yet so dear – still somehow emotively fulfilling. But as one ages, there is always this tragic yearning for one’s youth. It grabs you by the lapel and vigorously shakes you. Finally kinda’ learning how to live… we mourn how our knowledge has become somewhat futile in our later years. The heart sighs… the mind grows weary.

Flu Season Predicted to Be Very Serious (winter, 2019)

You need to check out the below link from Baseline Nutritionals. Australia, being hemispherically opposite from the US and Europe, is presaging a far worse than usual flu season for the northern hemisphere. Australia is experiencing the second worst flu season in recent records. The flu bug has hit them hard and it has hit them early. Check out the below link. Again, it should be noted that Google is suppressing all alternative health related information. Please reference my earlier post about Google censoring alternative health web sites.

Disclaimer: Although personally, I do highly endorse Baseline Nutritional products, I have no vested financial (or otherwise) interest in the sale of their products. I do subscribe to their e-letter. That’s where the above information, predicting a serious flu season, came from. Their newsletters have always been very relevant, very timely, and very helpful. But I derive nothing from those people in terms of any kind of consideration or remuneration.

Milky Way Star Formation

https://www.space.com/34-image-day.html

“Wednesday, October 2, 2019: In a new image from NASA’s Spitzer Space Telescope, giant “bubbles” of dust and gas are bursting with new star formation. According to NASA, each of these bubbles contains hundreds of thousands of stars. These cosmic bubbles get their shape from stellar winds(‘) radiation emitted from massive young stars, which can push the cloud’s material outward, causing it to “inflate,” or expand.

Citizen scientists helped NASA map out these bubbles as part of The Milky Way Project, which is mapping star formation throughout the Milky Way galaxy” — Hanneke Weitering
